Justice League Director Announced
Warner Brothers has announced that George Miller will be the director of the live action Justice League of America movie. The studio is trying to get all of the details in place before the anticipated Hollywood writer’s strike. They hope to have Justice League in theaters some time in 2009.
Justice League features many of DC Comics’ main heroes, including Batman and Superman. Variety is reporting that Christian Bale and Brandon Routh will not be in the movie, and Christian Bale has voiced his concern with having 2 seperate Batman movies in theaters so close together. Bale feels that the JLA movie may interfere with the character that has been developed in the new Christopher Nolan Batman films.
At one time WB considered making JLA as an animated feature, but they now believe that an effects-driven, live action movie will be the way to go. The hardest thing moving forward will be the casting. A source told Variety that the studio is. “… working very hard to get it to happen, but there are so many characters, it’s complicated.”
