Virtual Console Predictions For June 25th

We aren’t sure why Nintendo doesn’t just come out and tell us when games will be released for the [tag]Virtual Console[/tag], it’s probably to keep the interest in the system going. At least the secrecy lets us have fun speculating and predicting the upcoming releases. For those of you that are unfamiliar with what we do here, let us get you up to speed. Each week we pick 6 games that we think have the highest probability of showing up on the Wii’s Virtual Console. We will also will throw in a few wild card games, just for the fun of it. Some times the games that we pick are right on, and some times we are way off….but at the very least we give you guys an idea of what will be coming to the [tag]Virtual Console[/tag]….eventually.

Let’s take a look into the crystal ball

China Warrior

Hudson has confirmed that China Warrior will be released on June 25th.

Super Mario Bros. 2

One of my absolute favorite games of all time! When Nintendo does release this game for the Virtual Console it will be like Christmas and my birthday all rolled in to 1. SMB2 has been released in Europe, and it has been rated by the ESRB. It may be a little early to get SMB2, but hey we know it is coming so lets be positive.

F-Zero X

I am 100% certain that F-Zero X is going to be the next N64 game released on the Virtual Console. Both Europe and Japan have F-Zero X on their respective Virtual Consoles, so Nintendo hopefully won’t be making us wait too much longer. I wouldn’t be totally surprised if our VC lineup for the week was just China Warrior and F-Zero X.

Balloon Fight

Balloon Fight is one of those very early NES games, like Golf or Soccer, that will seem to pop up on the Virtual Console for no real rhyme or reason. Some times it almost feels like Nintendo uses these as filler type games. Balloon Fight has a good shot at being released this week because it has been rated by the ESRB and it has also been released in other regions.

Zombies At My Neighbors

A constant “On again, Off again” prediction for our little feature here, Zombies Ate My Neighbors is a game that really confuses us. It was listed on the ESRB site MONTHS ago, and we all assumed that we would all have it downloaded to our Wiis by now. We are putting it on the list for this week simply because we have a feeling….but that could just be gas.

Shining In The Darkness

Look everyone, it’s a SEGA game that was announced a long time ago, but still hasn’t shown up on the VC. (Vectorman anyone…and while I’m at it Vectorman and Zelda II are the reasons you should never trust Nintendo Power’s VC listings) Shining in the Darkness is ESRB rated and has been released in other regions, so it is primed and ready for the US Virtual Console.

Wild Cards:

This week we have 3 wild card games, Vectorman – Mach Rider – TMNT2: The Arcade Game

So, those are the games that we think have the best shot of showing up tomorrow. What do you guys think? Are we right, wrong, or just plain insane? Let us know what you think about our picks, and tell us what games you think Nintendo is going to give us this week.
