Fifth ‘Twilight’ Book On Hold
Stephenie Meyer, writer of the highly popular Twilight series of books, has put the fifth installment in the series on hold after a draft of the book, Midnight Sun, was posted to the internet. Sun was to be a retelling of the first novel in the series, “Twilight”, but from a different perspective.
“The manuscript that was illegally distributed on the Internet was given to trusted individuals for a good purpose,” Meyer wrote on her website.
“I have no comment beyond that, as I believe that there was no malicious intent with the initial distribution.”
Meyer said that the draft was rough and contained messy and flawed writing.
The Twilight series follows the adventures of Isabella Swan, a teenager who moves to Forks, Washington and finds her life turned upside down when she falls in love with a vampire named Edward Cullen.
The novels are currently some of the most popular books written for young adults, with sales exceeding 10.7 million and over five million sold in the U.S. alone.
A film based on Twilight will be in theaters in November.

I also finished the first four books in two weeks. It has been a long time since i have read books that i just could not put down. I am thirty nine and was at work running to break to get in reading time. Please finish book five.

It makes me sad to think that the 5th is “on hold” because some idiot leeked it.
I don’t find it a good enough reason though to punish all the fans.
Even though I understand why she’s upset about it.

Heyy everyone i have saw the film twilight and i am a COMPLETE BOOKWORM NO DOUBT!!!!! I am just finishing the 1st book and it is as though i am in the room with the caracters when i read – especially twilight bcoz whenever Edward flashes his heart breaking smile with his pearly white teeth my heart thumps harder than bella’s and i need to put the book down for a minuite to calm down!!! My breathing got harder while i read about being followed in the jeep by the tracker – well scary!!! then the dance studio!! i felt like running & hiding!!

I love your books i have read the whole twilight series over 25 times. I finish them in like 4 days and i will start to read them again. I can’t go a week without reading. I would love the 5th book. I also think that you should continue on from Breaking Dawn!! Whoever leaked it on to the internet is a jerk. I would not read the internet version because i would rather have a surprise. So please please finish the book.

i finished each of the books within a day do it only took me four days…..im addicted to the film and am eagerly awaiting the second film ‘New Moon’….i have also obtained the original soundtrack for twilight including the scores album…..im so addicted to everything to do with twilight and you HAVE to finish the 5th book…..i will be very disappointed if i dont read about it being released soon! =(

please, ms meyer, hear me if no one else makes any difference to you . i think that the 5th book is a muct for you to at least finish and sent to the printer, in that we as readers and those that have been involved in your work feel the need to do more then just the first 4 books. i go way back to my childhood and remember books for teens like nancy drew and the hardy boys. please dont let what some foolish person did hault the progress of this saga.
maybe you can even think of doing this in a series like the books i had just mentioned. being native american, i can only say that good things arent that easy to do , and harder to look away from.

I just wanted to stay like everyone else that your books are very fascinating and intriguing and totally awesome. It took me only 4 days to read all four books. I stayed up a few nights until like 5 in the mourning reading your books and getting up with kids at 8 in the mourning to get them ready for school. I have read your books twice now!! and I have only had them since mothers day of this year. It would be a crying shame not to finish the books. how are you going to beable to write something else if you already have all the ideas for the midnight sun and all of edwards point of view for the series. your head is two cramped up to sqeeze in other ideas. I havent read the fifth book online because I want the book it’s uncomfortable to sit at the computer and read 1st of all and second I want the actual book. what if someone like me wouldlike to read the book more than once. because I would and along with all the other people im sure they would like to read it more than once too.
But actually I think theirs more than just the story that everyone is addicted to is how good of a writter you are. YOU make the words in the books come to life and you can picture everything in your mind. YOU help the unimaginative people picture something in their mind. YOU help define feelings that were dead come alive. YOU help kids open thier minds to beable to imagine things and the need to read were with some of the other books out their in the world would otherwise make them run in the other direction. Please don’t shut down the imagination, the need to feel good about reading. Please write the books. I have to also mention I have never ever read a book twice in my life.

im 28 years old and i have never really been an avid reader not doing particularly well in school ,However, I simply cannot put these books down they have an amazing quality that makes you believe in the story and the characters i am actually in love with the idea of edward cullen !! my husband is completely ignored for days at a time while i read after work ! i even read om my lunch break ! I understand how frustrating it must be for you that someone who you trusted leaked your work but seriously i (along with many others looking at these comments) neeed this fifth book ! i have read one to four without even a pause what will i do when there are no more 1? Please please rise above it and publish the fifth book
