With Transformers 2 being the big money maker in 2009 it was just inevitable that Transformers 3 would be coming down the pike. It looks like the film will be getting started much quicker than anyone even imagined. Word from Deadline Hollywood Daily is the next installment of the toys turned movie franchise will begin production in May.
The funny part about this news is they have a few minor details to work out before then…like a script. A decision will also need to be made about shooting the film in 3D. In the past Michael Bay has been against 3D movie-making calling it a “gimmick”, but he also said that he wanted to see how successful Avatar was first. We all know how that one turns out.
So, will Transformers 3 actually be titled Transformers 3D, probably not. Frankly, I don’t care, I just want to see the Dinobots.
