Zombie Signs Deal with Dimension
Variety is reporting that Rob Zombie has just signed a two-picture deal with Dimension Films.
This deal comes on the eve of Zombie’s Halloween remake which is being produced by Dimension. The studio hopes that Halloween can capitalize on the fact that the Labor Day weekend is not a traditionally competitive time in the theaters, and studios normally don’t put out high profile films at that time.
“We are excited about his fresh take on ‘Halloween’ and are thrilled to be expanding our relationship with him on future projects,” Dimension topper Bob Weinstein said. “We admire Rob for all the roles he plays, both as a director and writer.”
Terms of the deal call for Zombie to write and direct both of the films, but that was the only detail that Dimension let out, it is not even certain if the 2 movies will be horror films. Zombie said that the deal is a “natural step in the evolution of my film career.”
Rob Zombie’s Halloween opens on August 31st.
